Their themes I would characterize as "Tradition vs. They are the only two books which take (partly) place in Ephebe (*), which like the rest of the locations in the two books have a general Roundworld mideastern feel to them, both books have clear references to Greek and Egyptian history/legends. I think of "Small Gods" as a spiritual sequel to "Pyramids". ![]()
